Love Island 2016 contestants Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland defied the odds when they stayed together and announced their engagement, but now Alex has showed just how in love he is with his fiancée by revealing a MASSIVE tattoo of her face.
Yes, you read that correct.
Alex showed off his brand new inking on Instagram and received a bit of a mixed reaction from his followers.
Sharing a photo of Olivia's face inked onto his right calf, Alex wrote, 'The realest ❤️ @oliviadbuck thanks to @chelsealouiisetattoo @darkheartstudiouk leg sleeves started 🙌🏽'
One user commented on the snap writing, 'Now that's dedication', with another adding, 'OMG stunning'.
Despite most comments being fairly positive towards Alex's new tattoo, a few negative comments appeared regarding the pair's relationship.
One user added ,'You're gonna regret that in 5 years', with another adding, 'Don't ever split up. I would never let my hubby do it'. A third user then wrote, 'Wow.... why couldn't he just get a necklaces with her name on or something.'
Despite this, it seems Olivia LOVES Alex's new tattoo as she shut down a fan who joked he'd be on Tattoo Fixers next year.
Responding to the comment, Olivia wrote, 'Lol no you won’t you’ll see us at the alter Hun. Say hi to Mrs bowen and byeeeeee to your s--- joke'. [sic]
Alex and Olivia first met when they appeared on popular ITV2 dating show Love Island in 2016. Despite not winning the show (that crown went to Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey), the couple stayed together and have been loved up ever since.
Back in December 2016, the happy couple announced their engagement during a romantic trip to New York for Christmas.
Announcing the news on social media, Olivia shared a photo of her pair with her stunning diamond ring on show and captioned the photo with, 'Am speechless. Thank you for all your messages. I love him. @ab_bowen07.' [sic]
Alex also took to Instagram at the time and wrote, 'I have no words for how happy I am. My fiance my everything @ab_bowen this was magical. So magical.'.
The pair are yet to reveal details of their wedding, but we imagine Alex's new tattoo will be on show during their big day!
