Cast your mind back a few months, when the weather was gorgeous and we had a daily 9pm date with Love Island. One of this year's stars was Dr Alex George, the shy doctor never got a girlfriend - always finding himself in the friend-zone, however, the show did propel him into the limelight. Now, after a few months of fame he's decide to RETURN to the NHS.
Dr Alex took to social media to confirm his intentions, telling his fans on Instagram in a statement, 'Love Island was the experience of a lifetime, but ever since I left the villa I've genuinely missed working for the NHS. That's why this week, I'm going back to A&E. I trained for years for the opportunity to help people, and I can't wait to get back to doing what I love.'
He then captioned his statement, 'I'll be using my platform to raise awareness around health issues among young people. Hopefully I'll be able to give you a bit of insight into what it's like on the front lines of the NHS. I hope you all continue this incredible journey with me. Here we go!'
After hearing his decision to return to his old job, fans of the doctor left numerous comments saying, '😷 yaaasss your nhs family are glad to have u back. Ahhooii hoooi', 'Do what makes you happy ! 💯💯' and 'Good luck xx'. [sic]
