There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding Love Island 2016 stars Scott Thomas and Kady McDermott’s relationship status of late.

It started when Kady seemingly deleted all trace of Scott from her social media, prompting fans to question whether they’d split. There were even claims on Twitter that Kady had already moved on to a new man.

"Apparently she met Someone eles but they are on good terms x" one of her followers wrote.

But Kady put an end to these rumours and replied: "I've defo not met anyone else and defo dont plan to either 😂🙈 #OnlyOnePencil"

However, the pair have rarely been spotted together since.

Scott’s now shed some light on what on Earth’s going on between the pair.

“Basically, we are just having a bit of time out. She’s just moved back down south and I’m just taking things slow, doing what we should of done at the beginning really (sic),” he told New! Magazine.

He insisted that they’re still together and in’ a better place’ than they had been, but were taking things much slower following their intense relationship on Love Island and then moving in together.

"Everyone’s cool, you’ve got to remember we did a show and everything was so intense and so rushed and everything,” he continued.

"We are basically just trying to do the right thing and just slow things down a little bit, that is all."

Phew. We’re not sure we can handle another Love Island break-up.

But we definitely won’t be rushing off to buy a hat anytime soon.

In happier new, Kady and Scott’s co-stars Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen have spoken out about their wedding plans.

There’s no fixed date, apparently or, if there is, Alex isn’t saying. Which fits in with his claim that the affair will be “family orientated, private and homely.”

Despite, err, being filmed for television.

"The TV show isn't definitely happening, but we're in talks about what’s going to be on it.

"It's got to be proper.

"We don't want a big crew coming to the wedding,” he told Mirror TV.
