It’s official - we’re a nation obsessed with Love Island and everyone has their opinion. We caught up with former Islander and Made In Cheslea star, Tina Stinnes, at the Fake Bake summer party in London, who gave us her verdict on this year’s show.
From announcing her favourite couple, describing her thoughts on the new villa split and even revealing her take on the Jess and Mike rumours, Tina tells us all...
What do you think about Love Island so far?
I love it, I’m obsessed!
Who are your favourite Love Island couple?
Marcel and Gabby without a doubt.
Do you think there are people in the villa that are being fake?
I don’t really like Chris and Olivia very much, I can’t explain it, there is something not likeable about them. I feel bad saying it but there is something I don’t like.
What do you think about the whole Kem and Amber situation?
I think she is quite young still, he is really sweet. I think 100% if new people came in, that they actually liked, they would go off straightaway.
I think now they are trying to stay together, I think it is cute actually but 100% they would go off. Neither of them are that into it!
Did you hear about the new villa and being split up? What do you think?
Yes! I love it!
I’m missing it right now actually! I think it’s amazing! There is an American show similar actually, because every time I go abroad, people say to me, ‘Oh, is it the show where you go into a villa and have temptation?’ and I’m like ‘No, it’s something else!’.
But I think what Love Island are doing is a really good idea. I can’t wait!
Who do you think will be swayed by the split up?
I think Kem and Amber will split straightaway, I think Marcel and Gabby are strong and I don’t think anyone will break them.
I think Dom may sway also!
What do you think about the Jess and Mike situation?
I mean, you don’t ever really know, you can’t believe everything you read! Although, I’m kind of swaying towards believing it happened! They need to finally admit it if it happened!
Do you still speak to your fellow Islanders from Love Island 2016?
Yeah me and Olivia Buckland are still so close. Well, all of us really, we have a group chat and also a girls group chat which is amazing!
We all plan to meet up and we are planning a girl’s holiday actually, so yeah, love them!
Do you think your group of girls were closer than this year’s girls?
You don’t really know. When we were in there, I thought I would be so close to everyone when I came out. But things change.
When we first came out we were all like ‘ah we love each other so much, we will see each other loads, we are all going to stay so close’, but obviously, you do get a bit distant.
I think if you are still friends in a year, you are real friends! It’s hard though, because everyone lives in such different places and everyone has their own world and lives. You love them as a person but obviously, things can get distant!
Do you understand how the new girls coming in feel as you came into the villa at a later stage? Can you relate?
OMG! I actually really, really feel for them. It is so hard, I can’t deal with it, it gives me anxiety for them.
Everyone is always like ‘I love her, she is so fit!’ but no one wants to go there so they leave it. They won’t break up from each other!
The girls are less loyal than the guys because the guys are always so whipped for their girls, but I do really want all the new girls to get their time to shine.
