Lucy Beale’s killer will only find out THEY’RE the murderer 30 MINUTES before live EastEnders episode!

Was it Dot Cotton with her marigolds? Jane Beale with a particularly savage Lady Di? Or Abi Branning with THAT jewellery box? Who killed EastEnders’ Lucy Beale and why the HELL do we have to wait until the week of 16 February to find out???

Uh, yeah, it turns out it’s not just the WHOLE of the British public waiting on tenterhooks to learn the identity of the murderer – the EastEnders cast itself still doesn’t know!

Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning in the BBC1 soap, reveals none of the actors whose characters are suspects actually know who did it yet AND they won’t find out until HALF AN HOUR before the live episode airs!

“I don’t think we’ll find out until the night,” he said.

“I guess whoever did it will find out an hour or half an hour before, so I have no idea.”

Is he telling the truth? Or could Max actually be out of the running now given that Jake hasn’t been given the, er, killer lines yet?

Speaking to radio presenter Steve Wright, Jake also admitted his character will be involved in another murky storyline in the next few weeks.

“There's a secret as well between him and his daughter Abi [Lorna Fitzgerald] but I don’t know what that secret is so hopefully I’ll find out in the next couple of weeks,” he said.

KILLER! KILLER! Ahem.

Jake went on: “I got the scripts for that Friday [20 February] and about 90 per cent of it was censored so I don’t know what’s going on, it’s all top secret.

“I’ve got no idea when they're handing that out and it’s just exciting no one knows who done it and all the cast are trying to guess as much as anyone else.”
