90210 and Riverdale actor Luke Perry has died aged 52

Riverdale and Beverley Hills 90210 actor Luke Perry has sadly passed away at the age of 52 after being hospitalised after he suffered a stroke last week.

Luke Perry's representative said in a statement, 'He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.

'The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.'

Luke, who played the role of Fred Andrews in hit Netflix show Riverdale, reportedly had the stroke at his home in Sherman Oaks at 9.40am on Wednesday 27th February and was rushed to hospital.

As well as playing the role of Fred in teen TV show Riverdale, Luke was mostly known for his role as Dylan McKay in the massive hit show Beverly Hills, 90210.

He had recently filmed a role in Quentin Tarantino's latest film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood alongside Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. Luke had also starred in blockbuster The Fifth Element, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Body of Proof amongst many other roles. He is survived by his son Jack, aged 21, and daughter Sophie, aged, 18, from his marriage to his ex-wife Rachel Sharp.
