Twitter went into a frenzy yesterday as a nasty ‘death hoax’ report about child star Macaulay Culkin made its way through social media.
The viral story sparked the creation of Facebook Group ‘RIP Macaulay Culkin’ which attracted thousands of likes within hours.
The site read: “At about 11 a.m. ET on Thursday (November 06, 2014), our beloved actor Macaulay Culkin passed away.
"Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
THANKFULLY the child star is ‘alive and well’ and touring with his band Underground Pizza.
The actor poked fun at the reports, posting a selfie with the caption: “We’re on tour you silly people.”
He also wrote: “One of the great things you can do when you're alive is stop for lunch in Breaux Bridge, LA.”
The Internet had us scared for a second there- thank goodness Macaulay Culkin is safe and well and travelling the world with his pizza band.
We love you, Macaulay!
