Mad Men actor Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt split after 18 years

Really sad news for a Tuesday morning and genuinely we don't think our hearts can take it - Mad Men actor Jon Hamm and his partner of 18 YEARS Jennifer Westfeldt have ended their relationship.

The couple of nearly two decades released a joint statement, telling *People *magazine: “With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history.”

The publication also revealed the couple were last seen together in July in New York City.

It was in 1997 when Jon, 44, and Jennifer, 45, first met and became one of Hollywood's most famous couples.

Film writer Jennifer wrote and produced *Kissing Jessica Stein. *The talented beauty also wrote, produced and directed Friends with Kids, in which Jon also starred in.

In 2009, the pair established a production company, Points West Pictures, and while Jon became famous for his eight years on Mad Men rumours emerged of a split.

In March 2015, he had full support from Jennifer as it emerged that Jon went to rehab for alcoholism.

“We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward,” the joint statement continued.
