Malin Akerman is everywhere at the minute. And we love her. The Canadian actress’ schedule is jam packed – with her latest film Final Girls set to hit cinemas on 9 October – but while on a break in Dubai, Malin found time for some fun.

Jumping onto the biggest EVER hammock (it’s now broken the Guinness World Record) put together by King Digital Entertainment – of Candy Crush fame – to celebrate the launch of their new mobile game Paradise Bay, we managed to grab a chat with her.

More news!

And we’re so glad we did. Malin’s worked with some of the biggest names in showiz but it’s clear to see that Tom Cruise is a guy that stands out in her mind.

The pair worked together on Rock Of Ages back in 2012 and Malin is a big fan.

“I’ve gotten the opportunity to work with some amazing actors –there’s one in particular that sticks out. His name is Tom Cruise, I don’t know if you’ve heard of him,” Malin joked with heat.

“He’s legendary… And that was such an incredible experience to work with such a veteran. I grew up watching Top Gun and Days of Thunder, and to then be working side by side with someone like Tom Cruise, who happens to be one of the most lovely, polite, respectful, collaborative actors; it was life altering; it was an amazing moment.”

She added: “That that one stands out because he’s a legend. Experience of working with him stands out because he’s a legend.”

Alongside Final Girls, Malin’s also working on a new show called Billions. And it sounds epic.

“Right now I’m working on a show time show called Billions with a little actor named Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti,” she explained. “It’s amazing – it’s got an incredible cast and it’s this sort of financial thriller, cat and mouse game.

“You have this US attorney chasing after a billionaire, white collar crimes and some strong female characters, which I really enjoy because it’s what you look for in good writing. It’s not just great women standing by their great men but actually standing beside them and being a power point as well. It’s a little bit of House of Cards meets Wolf of Wall Street.”

We'll definitely be tuning in.

Paradise Bay is the most accessible tropical island around this autumn and available to play free on iOS and Google Play.
