The reality TV star was pictured with blood streaming from her nose and chin, looking upset and shocked after going out over the weekend.
Police are investigating the incident which reportedly took place at 2.30am Sunday morning.
Derby Police, who confirmed an assault took place in Becketwell Lane, Derby to The Mirror, said: "We are investigating an assault on a 28-year-old woman.
Earlier today the 28-year-old tweeted: “I’ve felt better…”
Another source said: "Maria is still in shock so won't be commenting at the moment. "However, it was a random attack."
Earlier this year Maria was glassed on another night out. She posted to her Twitter page: "I am official becoming teetotal.
"My business is doing well and waiting for the weekend every week is not going to help me progress in my tanning company.
"It seems the perfect time to hang up my Louboutins and quit alcohol.
"In the past two weeks I have been glassed by a man and also verbally abused when out and never received hostility like that before."
