Mariah Carey on dating billionaire James Packer: ‘It’s fun – I’m not going to lie’

Mariah Carey and James Packer are so loved it, it’s like they’re in a permanent honeymoon period. Especially when you count up the number of holidays they’ve been on since they got together earlier this summer.

So far, Mariah has stayed tight-lipped on her romance with the billionaire businessman but last night, told reporters she was having a ball with her new bloke.

Walking out of the Harper’s Bazaar Icons issue party at The Plaza Hotel in New York she told waiting reporters: “It’s fun, I’m not going to lie.”

She added: “He's not joining me inside tonight. But we were together last night, so that was fun.”

And to be fair, Mariah deserves a good laugh. Since splitting with her husband Nick Cannon in 2014 – after six years of marriage – it’s nice to see her smiling again. And we all got to see that incredible GIF of when the poor love fell down some stairs and James just watched on as one of his staff went to save her. We’re sure she must have forgiven him by now (although we wouldn’t have).

The couple are so serious now it’s even rumoured their could be a wedding on the cards.

“James wants to marry her sooner rather than later,” an insider said. “[Mariah] is very open to the idea.”
