Last week, Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan took to Instagram to share the exciting news that they have become parents. The former TOWIE star and the Ten Pound Poms actress welcomed their first child – a daughter – earlier this month, a fitting gift ahead of their tenth wedding anniversary.

‘Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright 06 03 2025,’ Michelle said, sharing a first-look photo of their newborn daughter in a knitted bonnet and dress, with her and Mark’s hands intertwined around her.

The couple, who made their pregnancy announcement in December, were instantly flooded with well-wishes from their family and celebrity pals.

Mark’s mum Carol wrote, ‘We are in love with you, beautiful baby girl. Thank you Michelle and Mark for this wonder gift’, while his dad Big Mark said, ‘Grandad’s little living doll, absolutely beautiful, love you so much Palma.’

Michelle’s mum Jackie Thornton wrote, ‘So very proud of you both. Thank you for giving us a beautiful granddaughter. She is perfect,’ and Mark’s sister Natalya remarked, ‘Our amazingly perfect girlie. Auntie and Uncle love you so so much baby girl.’ Rochelle Humes responded, ‘Congratulations gang,’ while Amanda Holden wrote, ‘Best news ever. Congratulations darling to both of you.’

Our sources say Mark, 38, and Michelle, 37, are heads over heels in love with baby Palma. ‘These first days have been incredibly precious for both of them,’ we’re told.

‘They’re on cloud nine and in a complete baby bubble. It feels like it’s just the three of them, even though they know they have fantastic support for their friends and family. They’ve been thinking about this for so long that, in some ways, they feel very prepared. Michelle has been dreaming of this moment for years, and now that it’s finally come true, she just wants to be present and enjoy every single moment.’

It's thought that the couple, who celebrate their wedding anniversary in May, chose to name their baby Palma after Majorca’s capital city because of their strong connection with the Spanish island, which was the setting for their pregnancy reveal photo shoot.

‘Palma has always been such a special place for them. They have had some very romantic times there, where they would talk about their future – including having a family,’ we’re told. ‘It’s really significant for them because it’s about a special place where they shared things, just the two of them.’

Mark – who has three nephews – recently told us how he was looking forward to becoming a dad. ‘I’m very excited, nervous and excited. I love my nephews more than anything in the world. It was when they came around that made me realise how much I want kids because people say that when you have kids, you’ll never feel love like it,’ he said. ‘I’ve never felt love like I have with my nephews. It’s the best feeling in the world. So, if that’s anything to go by, I’ve got a huge amount of love coming into my life.’

And as they learn to navigate parenthood, we’re told Mark and Michelle are eager to throw themselves into it all. ‘They have always done things their own way, and parenting is going to be no different,’ the insider says.

‘There is a lot for them to figure out in terms of work schedules and just getting to grips with having a baby, but they are feeling surprisingly at ease with it all and going with the flow.’

The source adds, ‘There is just so much love and support surrounding them, and Michelle and Mark couldn’t be more grateful for it all. But they are also enjoying this special time in their own private world and really want to do so much together, just the three of them. They can’t wait for their first holiday as parents – they would love to take their daughter to her namesake.’
