Who ever thought Mark Wright would court such controversy? The former TOWIE star and Heart Radio presenter is the man your mum loves and the cheesy voice you listen to in the car, so he's the last person you'd expect to get slammed for his choice of friend.
Yesterday the Essex-born TV star posted a snap of him and Piers Morgan hanging out together at Ascot. In he pic, uploaded to Instagram, the duo have their arms round each other, smoking a pipe and looking like their having a good ol' time.
Mark captioned the pic: "YOU WHAT!? Ascot..with that man @thepiersmorgan. What a day".
QUEUE INSTA BACKLASH
Piers Morgan is known to divide opinion with his outspoken opinions on celebs such as Scarlett Moffatt and Lily, so when Mark uploaded the image he was trolled. HARD.
"Vile man, can't believe you giving him the time of day", wrote one follower.
"If that's the company u keep then its unfollow time," wrote another.
Some fans even referred to the time Mark caused controvery by retweeting a message from Donald Trump.
"First trump and now Piers Morgan #shame," an upset follower commented.
But while many slammed Mark for the pic, some expressed their love for the TV presenter.
"I love Piers Morgan he says it how it is and whats what people don't like" commented a female fan, while another commented "I love watching #GMB in the morning. @piersmorgan makes my day."
This isn't the first time Mark has turned heads with his social media activity. Earlier this month he was criticised for supporting an anti-terror message posted by Donald Trump.
Trump tweeted: "We must stop being so politicially correct and get down to the business of security for our people. If we don't get smart, it will only get worse".
Mark's account then retweeted Trump's tweet and put a 'praising hands' emoji in an ode of support for the US president's message, reports The Mirror.
This was followed up by Mark's account retweeting another tweet by Trump in which he slammed the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. "At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is 'no reason to be alarmed!".
Mark's followers expressed their shock and disbelief at his support for Trump's to-the-point and direct tweets.
One user posted "Are you serious?", while another professed "Noooooo…why Trump? My impression of Mark Wright is sadly and irrevocably diminished".
Alongside the support for Trump coming from Mark's account, he also went on to retweet a tweet from the ex-Mayor of London Boris Johnson. Boris tweeted "Very very very clear – Corbyn will never protect us against our enemies".
Whilst all of this was going on, Mark's wife Michelle Keegan was watching the One Love Manchester show where a host of singing sensations gathered to pay homage to the victims and survivors of the Manchester terror attack.
Michelle tweeted "So powerful, so special! @ArianaGrande Thankyou! OneLoveManchester # proud".
Mark also sent out a tweet in homage to Manchester and England, paying tribute to 'our country' never being defeated with the hashtag #OneLoveManchester.
It has not been confirmed whether Mark actually retweeted Trump's tweets or his account was hacked, but the tweets have now been deleted.
