He quit his successful US career earlier this year, telling fans that he was putting his family first – but, eight months later, Mark Wright’s feeling a smidge of regret.

Last week, he was back in LA, and he wasted no time in temporarily getting back to his hosting duties for entertainment show Extra.

Now, according to insiders, Mark’s brief return to work has left him wondering whether he’s made the right decision after all.

“Going back to LA brought back some of Mark’s worries about his career,” an insider close to the star, who interviewed Christian Bale and Matt Damon last week for Extra, tells heat.

“He was surprised by how much he enjoyed it over there. Work in the UK hasn’t been as forthcoming as he’d hoped, and now he’s concerned that he was too hasty in leaving America."

"He thought he’d be doing prime-time TV by now, but he’s still on the periphery.”

The 32 year old previously defied expectations by relocating to LA and taking the US by storm as a presenter.

But while his career blossomed, his marriage suffered – with Mark admitting that he was coming home to spend more time with wife Michelle Keegan, who finished filming Our Girl in Malaysia in the summer.

Now, we’re told that Mark’s next move hinges on what Michelle does: if she signs up for another series of Our Girl (which will likely involve a long stint of filming abroad), he’s heading back to LA. “He doesn’t want to play the pining husband in the UK again,” our source says.

“If Michelle decides to focus on her career, he’ll be more adventurous with his choices. Extra would have him back in a heartbeat.”
