After becoming first-time parents earlier with the birth of daughter Palma in March, Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan have been enjoying a picture-perfect summer holiday as a family of three.
And, insiders tell heat that the Marbella getaway was the perfect chance for the 38 year olds to discuss juggling their booming careers with being parents.
Revealing that radio presenter Mark is more than happy to enter his stay-at-home dad era, a source says, ‘Mark made a promise to Michelle that for the foreseeable future, he’s very happy to do things on her terms. It’s Michelle’s career that’s taking priority, and he wants to take a back seat and ensure that she gets everything she wants out of life.
'He’s got a lot of business investments and ventures that he can run from home, so he doesn’t need to be jetting off everywhere like Michelle does. He’s told her that he will happily be a stay-at-home dad if she needs to be away filming.’
Enjoying a stroll in the sunshine with three-month-old Palma, Michelle Keegan and Mark looked every inch the happy family as they were celebrated the former Corrie star’s 38th birthday in the Spanish resort. Revealing that the family getaway offered the couple a welcome chance to discuss what the future may hold, our source says, ‘They’ve been able to figuring a lot of stuff out – they could speak freely and be really honest without anyone getting involved. It’s been very emotional for both of them, because they’re still in their baby bubble – it’s all so new.’
Michelle’s career is going from strength to strength. Having found fame on Coronation Street, the star fast became a household name and has remained so ever since. Most recently she was in Cannes, rubbing shoulders with the A-list.
As heat has reported Michelle is keen to break America, with a source telling us, ‘She would love to play the lead in a Hollywood movie – and after networking at Cannes, it’s looking like it could be a possibility. She’s had massive global exposure thanks to the success of Netflix’s Fool Me Once, and a big film project is the next step for her career.’
And after the source noted that Mark ‘knows how ambitious Michelle is and wants her to follow her dreams’, we’re now told that the former TOWIE star is more than happy to let his wife shine.
‘It’s very clear that Michelle’s acting career is still a priority,’ our insider reveals. ‘Mark doesn’t feel at all threatened by that. He’s in awe of Michelle’s talent and has always said throughout their marriage that he would never stand in the way of her goals. Michelle feels so supported by Mark – she’s the luckiest woman in the world.’
