Marnie Simpson sparked headlines last month after tweeting that she was bisexual – but she's actually been aware of her real sexuality for around five years.
Opening up to heat about realising her bi-ness, the Geordie Shore lass revealed that it took an "encounter" with a woman last year to make her sure about her feelings.
"It's been a while, but you know when you don't know yourself and you're confused about it? When I was 19, I realised I would look at some girls in a different way to other girls," she said.
"I've always kissed girls, but I don't think I took it seriously until I had an encounter with a girl a year ago."
When we asked her what happened, 24-year-old Marnie explained: "It was just after a night out – we got drunk and it just happened. That, to me, was different, because it was just me and her.
"It wasn't for any other reason than I wanted to, so it made us think differently. It was a friend – I've known her about two years."
But would she ever get into something more serious with a woman?
"I don't know if anything would happen in the future with her. I'm still a bit hesitant to have a full-blown relationship with a girl, but I do think it would be a possibility."
So has Marnie told her Geordie Shore housemates?
"I've told them I was texting a girl, but they take everything with a pinch of salt. I wouldn't go out of me way to tell the boys. I don't think they'd take any notice unless I was in a relationship with a girl and they'd be like, 'What the hell?'"
