Is anyone else still a tiny bit obsessed with Matt Cardle? Do you get butterflies when you see old pics of him in his lovely hat? Hands up who still watches his REALLY SEXY duet with Rihanna on YouTube from time to time?
JUST US?
Anyway, we were absolutely DISTRAUGHT to learn that our whole entire lives may have been a lie – as his loveable story about being a loveable painter and decorator turned 2010 X Factor winner (he beat one direction…) wasn't even real.
And he mentioned it SO CASUALLY.
"The painting and decorating story wasn't entirely true," he said in interview with Digital Spy. "I was doing anything for cash when I auditioned for that show but that sounded the best."
If you'll remember (which we do because we YouTube it on the reg), Matt said before his first audition: "I've been working as a painter for a couple of years now. It's boring and monotonous and I hate it, to be honest. I keep myself going by singing.
"This opportunity would mean the end of magnolia all over my face and hands, the end of brushes, the end of hotel rooms and the break I need."
We're guessing this revelation is reaaaaaaaally going to rile up the "THE X FACTOR IS A FIX!" brigade.
They've been going absolutely WILD lately – particularly yesterday after a club called Kittys and Kandy (which sounds f*cking fantastic, can we add) booked Honey G for a PA on the night of The X Factor final.
One commented on their Facebook: "X factor final is this date this mean the shows a fix lol."
The Sun Online approached the club, who said that they'd secured the date providing Honey isn't in the final – and in such a case they'd rearrange.
