Max George has insisted his The Wanted bandmate Tom Parker will get better after he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

Tom, who recently welcomed his second child with wife Kelsey, has vowed to keep “fighting” and is currently undergoing treatment.

Strictly Come Dancing star Max has shared his hopes for Tom to make a recovery and promised that The Wanted will reunite when he is well enough.

He told talkRadio, “I have told him that as well. I have said, ‘You better hurry up and get past this because we need to get back on the stage,’ and he said, ‘Yeah we do, absolutely’. So he said he’d get over it as soon as he can.

“We all remain really positive. There’s a lot of opportunities, a lot of doors that have been opened for new treatments. He’s really positive and we all are.”

Tom, 32, announced the heart-breaking news of his diagnosis last month in an emotional Instagram post.

He told fans, “Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why. There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment.

“We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.

“We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options. It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey xxx.”
