Revealing they were left with an album they couldn't release, drummer Harry told *Digital Spy: "*That album still exists and we were always planning on releasing it, but then McBusted just took off on another level.
"It would have been weird to suddenly be releasing a McFly album.
"We stopped working on it for the time being, but you look back now and that was two and half years ago, and I think if we're honest with ourselves, it wasn't there anyway."
Hazza admitted he "wouldn't want" to release a McFly album now as it would mean the band would have to answer a lot of questions about the status of both bands and their future.
Harry continued: "That's the most frustrating thing about being in a band, because there were some brilliant songs that we did have there. There might be a few we could re-look at.
"It was a really frustrating time for us because we poured a lot of effort into that and had an amazing time making it, and there's some stuff there we really believe in.
"But it would have just felt weird and detrimental to the success we were having with McBusted. There were a lot of McFly fans left frustrated and we feel that frustration."
