TOWIE fans, we've got bad news. Megan McKenna, one of the most fabulous cast members of the ITVBe show is packing her bags and leaving. Nooooo!
The Essex starlet is 'emotionally drained' from the fall out of her break up with TOWIE bad boy Pete Wicks and is also keen to make the most of the early success in her music career.
And sadly, the 25 year old beauty has confirmed the news herself, telling The Sun Online: “I’ve absolutely loved my time on TOWIE, although this series has been emotionally draining so I need a break from all the drama and lies.
"My music is really important to me and I just want to focus as much of my time on that as possible but I’d like to think I might return at some point.
"I’d like to thank everyone at Lime Pictures and ITV for their ongoing support."
And if that wasn't enough to depress us, a spokesperson for TOWIE has also backed up Megan's statement.
They said: “We have mutually agreed with Megan that it’s time for her to take a break from the show but we extend our 'open door policy' should Megan want to return assuming it’s relevant for the stories and people we’re following at the time.”
Surely Megan is ALWAYS going to be relevant!
This news comes as her now ex-boyfriend Pete claimed Megan has been seeing one of her old flames, Harry Eden, providing further reason for her to want to take a break from the Essex crew.
A source told The Sun Online: "Megan is becoming increasingly busy with her music and following her recent break up with Pete she’s moving further away from the Essex crowd.
"Not living, socialising and being a part of that Essex bubble makes it increasingly difficult for her to remain a full time cast member of the show and for her role to be authentic and true to what keeps the show real"
Well, we're going to miss you Megan! Don't forget us when you're a big country music star...
