Former Spice Girl Mel B and mother-of-three confirmed she was in a four-year relationship with a woman before she met her husband.

Speaking to the Guardian, she said: "I did have a four-year relationship with a woman.

“But I’ve been very happily married for seven years to a p****. Ha ha! An amazing guy."

As we previously wrote on heatworld.com Mel B spoke of her sexuality on The Alan Carr show at the beginning of November.

In response to a question about straight women becoming lesbians, Mel said: "Yeah, I was one of those for a few years."

When asked if she was a lesbian, Mel said: "I would not call it that. I was just one of those ladies. Now I’m happily married."

Mel and husband, Stephen, at the SeriousFun Gala held at Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Road, London.

The X Factor judge also admitted to having a relationship with a woman when she spoke to American radio DJ Howard Stern in 2010.

She told the host: "People call me lesbian, bisexual or heterosexual, but I know who's in my bed and that's it… I have a huge libido and a great sex life."

Mel married her "soul mate" Stephen Belafonte in 2007, but prior to that had a brief relationship with Eddie Murphy and was married to Jimmy Gulzar for two years from 1998.
