Any of you settle down to watch the Big Fat Quiz of the Year last night, anticipating a healthy dollop of Boxing Day japes? Any of you disappointed by the lacking sense of humour of one particular X Factor judge? Well you’re not alone.
Mel B was hit with a storm of online criticism after her appearance on this year’s instalment of the annual TV show.
Radio DJ Toby Anstis was one of the first to complain about her performance on Twitter:
British Olympic gold medal winner Greg Rutherfood was also unimpressed:
The rest of the public echoed their disappointment, with one user tweeting: “Who decided having Mel B on Big fat Quiz was a good idea?”
Another wrote: “ARRGHHHH Can’t take anymore, Mel B has forced me to go to bed and read a book. Single handedly ruined big fat quiz. #zerohumour
And Mel really didn’t seem at ease during the programme, failing to warm to her team mate Micky Flanagan and generally coming across as a bit of a sourpuss.
At one point she criticised IT Crowd star and bona fide funnyman Richard Ayode for the way he was eating his banana, telling him meanly: "I think the way that your eating it is kind of disturbing."
Still, he was unfazed by her comments. "I think it's cause I'm kind of sexual," he said. Richard - 1. Mel B - 0.
If you're feeling really down in the dumps by the way the quiz turned out, do not fear! You can tune in to the Big Fat Anniversary Quiz on 2nd January. If nothing else, after last night's performance, we can guarantee it will be Mel B free.
