The Mercury Prize nominees list has been revealed, hooray!

The Prize aims to promote the “best of UK and Irish music and the artists who produce it” yet baffling was won by M People in 1994.

Lovely, lovely Lauren Laverne will host the awards show on Friday 20 November in the Radio Theatre, Broadcasting House, London.

The judging panel is made up of industry big jobs including Anna Calvi and Nick Mulvey, but who should win?

More news!

This is what we reckon:

Aphex Twin: Syro – too beardy

Wolf Alice: M_y Love Is Cool_ – probably not, although You’re A Germ is a TUNE

Roisin Murphy: Hairless Toys – not going to happen

C Duncan: Architect – PJ and Duncan have more chance

ESKA: Eska – not sure

Florence + the Machine: How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful – probably will win

Ghostpoet: Shedding Skin – SHOULD 100% WIN

Slaves: Are You Satisfied? – will not win but is proper excellent

You probably disagree, don’t you? That’s good.
