This year’s Brit Awards arrives on Wednesday 22nd February, and the likes of Sia, Little Mix, Adele and One Direction are all up to win one of the coveted statues.

Olly Murs reportedly turned down the chance to host the UK’s biggest awards ceremony this year because he was a tad wounded that he never received any nominations.

So instead of the previous X Factor finalist, producers turned to everyone’s favourite Christmas crooner, Michael Bublé, to take on the role of host after last year’s presenting duo, Ant and Dec, took the stage.

However, following his son’s heart breaking cancer diagnosis a few months ago, Michael has decided to turn down the gig.

A source told The Sun: “It was a difficult call but Michael has decided to pull out of hosting the Brit Awards.

“Out of respect for Michael the producers gave him as much time as he needed to make the decision, which they completely understood.

“He would have put a unique stamp on the night so it’s a real shame, but at the moment his priority is his family.”

The source says that they are now looking at their options and will find a suitable replacement for the awards show.

Michael and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, shared the sad news that Noah, three, had leukaemia in November and would be undergoing treatment.

Upon receiving the news, Michael cancelled all his plans in order to take care of his son, including a gig at the BBC Music Awards in December.

Taking to Facebook, the couple explained that they were putting their careers on hold so that they could devote all of their time to Noah in an effort to beat the cancer.

We wish the Bublés all the best.
