It’s been a while since we heard any new music from Mike Posner – who released his debut album 31 Minutes To Take Off in 2010 and that catchy track Cooler Than Me. But now, Mike’s back with new music. His first single is I Took A Pill In Ibiza (Seeb remix) and, it turns out, that’s exactly what he did. Naughty, Mike.

“I was working with Avicii in Sweden, and it was ice cold so when he had a gig in Ibiza, I flew down there,” Mike told Billboard “He played a song he had written that week, and people liked it. I'm an artist, I'm insecure and a bit narcissistic, so I'm feeling a little jealous. Then these people recognized me. People don't usually know who I am, so that felt good. When they were like, ‘You want one of these?’ and offered me this plastic baggie, I said, "Sure, man.” We’re bet it was just a Nurofen...

Avici is clearly a fan of Mike's latest work, saying: “These are the best songs Mike Posner has ever written.”

Right now, the track is doing SO well – it charted at number 16 on Spotify's global chart and right now has over 80 million streams on the site.

But what inspired him to create new music after such a long break? “It’s just about being honest,” he explained. “I listen to a lot of stuff that’s out there, some of which I wrote, and I’m like, ‘Where is that? Where’s the honesty?’ So that’s what I want to get to in my music now.

Welcome back, Mike. We expect to have your songs stuck in our head for the rest of this year.
