Miley Cyrus has changed so much over the last few years, it’s hard to remember that she was once a beloved Disney kid in the form of Hannah Montana.
But the We Can’t Stop singer has spoken about her time on the TV show, revealing it left her with body issues while growing up.

The 22-year-old singer, who now looks very different from her Disney days, told how working on the series while young gave her unrealistic ideas about beauty, causing her to have insecurities about her own appearance.
In her interview with Marie Claire for their September issue, she spoke of the experience, saying:
“From the time I was 11, it was, 'You're a pop star! That means you have to be blonde, and you have to have long hair, and you have to put on some glittery tight thing.’
"Meanwhile, I'm this fragile little girl playing a 16-year-old in a wig and a ton of make-up.”
Miley Cyrus began working on the musical show aged just 11, which premiered in 2006. It ran for four seasons until 2011, and she also played the lead character in two spin off films.
In the interview, she went on:
"I was told for so long what a girl is supposed to be from being on that show. I was made to look like someone that I wasn't, which probably caused some body dysmorphia because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn't on that show, it was like, Who the f**k am I?
“I would have anxiety attacks. I would be with my friends, thinking, I should be having so much fun.”
The singer has come a long way since then, as now she seems body proud and comfortable in her own skin, and is clearly having so much fun with all her celeb pals.
