Why is it that good shows get cancelled, and epically, epically bad ones seem to run FOREVER? (Cough, Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover, cough, Loose Women, cough.)

Anyway, one of the goodies has got the axe, and it’s The Mindy Project.

Granted, it’s a US show and the above two abominations are from the UK (VERY REGRETTABLY), but it’s still not fair.

Fox has cancelled The Mindy Project – and to make it worse, right in the middle of a cliffhanger, too.

At the end of season three Danny Castellano was jumping on a plane to India to ask Mindy Lahiri’s parents if he could have their permission to marry her. And we’ve not yet met Danny and Mindy’s child.

However, we have got a little nugget of joy. E! News reports that Hulu might actually be picking up the show for a fourth series.

The show’s creator, Mindy Kaling told E!: "[The show is] a breeding ground for insane talent and for people to watch it and be like, 'This was a great love story over the course of how ever many seasons for the first time between two realistic people falling in love.’

“I don't know that we're going to see that many more of those kind of shows on [other] networks."

Let’s hope that Hulu do step in and save the show.
