Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has once again been forced to defend herself after jetting off on a luxury holiday while much of the UK is plunged into Tier 4 restrictions.

Molly and her boyfriend Tommy Fury are currently sunning it up in a very fancé resort in the Maldives and have been documenting the trip in excruciating detail for all of us stuck in drizzly blighty, and it hasn’t gone down too well with her followers – many of whom have just received the devastating blow that they’ll be separated from friends and family for Christmas after the Government scrapped plans to allow households to mix over the break.

"I really like you and the person you are but everybody else is staying home struggling to keep our sanity and make ends meet,” fumed one commenter.

"Not being able to see family and respecting their is a worldwide pandemic going on while you travel the world. Thanks for doing your part."

Another said, "I'm sorry but I find this offensive given we're in a global pandemic.

"You have broken the tier 2 guidelines which clearly say 'people should carefully consider whether they must travel abroad'. You are on holiday and you did not need to travel abroad other than for selfish needs."

But Molly-Mae, who recently bought a seriously plush £1.3m Cheshire home with Tommy, hit out at criticism and said, “We didn’t break any rules coming away.”

Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague responds to rumours she's 'in therapy'

"In response to the messages I'm already getting about us being away throughout this time...

"Please understand that Tommy and I left the UK from Cheshire which was in Tier 2 at the time.

"If we knew these rules were going to be put in place then obviously we would have never left the UK.

"The minute we arrive home we will be following government guidelines."

Molly’s claims are at odds with government guidelines which dissuade Tier 2 occupants from travelling except for work, medical, educational or care reasons.
