FormerLove Island star Montana Brown has defended her trip to Barbados after fans began to question whether she had broken lockdown rules.
Like many other Love Island stars and social media influencers, Montana was amongst those who escaped the third national lockdown by jetting off for a tropical getaway; but she claims her circumstances differ from others'.
Montana didn’t hesitate before deciding to document her entire vacay. She's been uploading content to her Instagram for several weeks now; ever since she fled the country before Christmas.
These sunny pics and blue skies are what led her fans to speculate on whether she flew out after the latest lockdown was announced here in the UK and broke lockdown rules.
However, Montana has affirmed that she has not broken any rules, as she flew out for her escape before Christmas - putting her fan's concerns to rest.
Speaking to The Sun, Montana explained, "I travelled before there was a national lockdown to see my family, so it was legal for me to travel. I spent Christmas out here.
"I’ve been here ever since and haven’t moved. I actually haven’t dealt with that much hate online because of that."
Montana also revealed that she wanted to distance herself from other “insensitive and irresponsible” celebs who have been shamelessly posting pics of themselves partying, and explicitly breaking covid rules.
Phew - she's a good 'un.
She said, "I do think it is insensitive and irresponsible to put on social media that you’re partying or with a large group of people, as it’s rightly seen as wrong by people who are losing family members and losing their businesses."
