Morgan Freeman’s step-grandaughter Edena Hines murdered after fatal stabbing

Morgan Freeman's step-grandaughter Edina Hines has been murdered after being found on a Manhattan street at 3am with fatal stab wounds.

Edina, who was only 33 years old, was found after police responded to a 911 call late at night, she was found with numerous stab wounds in her chest and pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

In a statement, Morgan paid tribute to the granddaughter of his first wife, he said: “The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer.

"Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace."

Edina studied acting and was working to teach young people in urban areas.

A thirty-year-old man has been arrested outside of Edina's home, however no charges have been processed.
