**WARNING! **There is swearing in this video.

Lovely ol’ Nicky Campbell has apologised for the rudest of all the words – the c-word – being uttered on his Radio 5 Live show.

The presenter was forced to apologise to listeners after Jonathan Goldberg QC used the rude word while recounting what was said during an incident involving a former soldier in Afghanistan.

More news!

Sergeant Alexander Blackman was given a life sentence with a minimum of 10 years for killing an Afghan solider in Helmand province in 2011.

Explaining why the case should have been adjudged as manslaughter due to its "incredibly mitigating circumstances", Jonathan told Nicky that the victim was "dying anyway" after being hit by Apache gunfire, and what the soldier did was "at worst... the coup de grace".

"But he also says, 'It's more than you would have done for us, you c**t', and how right he is," he recalled, prompting the shocked breakfast show host to cut in.

"Oh please, please, we really can't have that," Nicky insisted. "I absolutely appreciate what you are saying and we were with you, we were listening... but I'm so sorry we cannot accept language like that.

"Apologies if you were offended by that."
