They were once a famously tight-knit family, but the reported feud between the Beckham clan is showing no signs of coming to an end. After being noticeably absent throughout dad David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations, eldest son Brooklyn and billionaire heiress wife Nicola Peltz are continuing to distance themselves, with a source telling heat that she’s now laying down the law with her husband.
‘Brooklyn is a little sheepish about all the drama, but at the same time, he has to choose between his family and Nicola – and he can only side with his wife. He adores her and wants his marriage to work,’ we’re told. ‘He feels all of it being played out public has been unnecessary and has tried to persuade his parents to offer an olive branch to Nicola.’
Brooklyn is currently focused on launching his own hot sauce brand, Cloud 23, as well as becoming an e-racing car driver. Our source says, ‘Nicola has been a huge support to him and that includes financially, as he’s never really earned enough on his own. But Nicola has told him that he needs to start showing her some loyalty in return. Of course Brooklyn would rather this wasn’t happening, but he’s feels he has to back his wife.’
Brooklyn, 26, was once extremely close to parents David and Victoria, 51, and his siblings Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13. But things are thought to have taken a sour turn after Romeo began dating DJ Kim Turnbull, 24. She was rumoured to have been a love interest of Brooklyn around nine years ago – although Cruz shut down speculation they were a couple, writing in a now-deleted comment that they ‘never dated’.
Brooklyn was reportedly refusing to be in the same room as Kim, but other sources have claimed these stories were leaked by Nicola’s people as a cover for their absence at all of David’s birthday celebrations. Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, also snubbed David’s big day on social media, failing to share any well wishes.
Meanwhile, Romeo and Cruz have seemingly gone as far as to mock Nicola in a cheeky Insta post. When the actress commented on a carousel of Romeo’s ex-girlfriend Mia Regan’s photos, writing, ‘So beautiful Mia’, Cruz mimicked her exact comment underneath a gallery of his sibling’s pics, which included snaps of Kim, writing, ‘So beautiful Romeo.’ Romeo responded with three crying laughing emojis.
It’s not the first time things have been rocky between the Beckhams and the Peltzes. Famously, there were whispers of a fallout after Brooklyn tied the knot with Nicola in April 2022. The cause of the apparent disagreement was Nicola’s choice of a custom Valentino Couture dress over a VB-designed one. Nicola later denied there was any bad blood saying, ‘It’s not a feud,’ adding, ‘It all started because I didn’t end up wearing Victoria’s wedding dress.’
While relations seemed to improve briefly, with Victoria publicly supporting her daughter-in-law’s movie Lola last year, things are now thought to be worse than ever. But as Victoria and David agonise over what to do next – with the pair looking downcast as they stepped out in New York last week – we’re told they are trying to put on a dignified front. David even included Brooklyn as part of a sweet tribute to Victoria to celebrate Mother’s Day in the US.
Our insider says, ‘Vic is keen to step back from all the drama. She understands what it’s like to be at the centre of a big media storm like this – and knows they can even bring people closer together sometimes. They don’t want to lose Brooklyn, but they need to start shutting down the attention around it. They can’t see a pathway forward.’
The source adds, ‘They apologised after the wedding dress situation and said they respected Nicola as Brooklyn’s wife. But this time, they feel there’s nothing to apologise for. Vic says she’ll happily say sorry if Nicola can pinpoint what exactly she’s done to upset her.’
