Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton ‘split after series of arguments’ but made the choice together

Our hearts sank when we heard yesterday that Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton had split up.

The singer and the Formula 1 driver ended their seven-year romance and Nicole has now opened up about the break-up, saying it was a tough decision but a choice they made together.

The former lovebirds are said to have had a series of arguments over Christmas and New Year with Lewis ending up being locked out of the London apartment Nicole was staying in and banging on the door in a bid to get back in.

But despite the apparent difficulties, Nicole says the pair still love each other.

She told The Sun: “I love Lewis and I know he loves me.

“We wish nothing but happiness and the very best for one another. I’m trying to stay strong in my faith right now.”

When news of the split first broke yesterday, it was claimed Lewis was refusing to marry Nicole but it seems the difficulties may have been greater as they couple struggled to make their long distance relationship work.

A friend told The Sun: “Yes there were fights all the time, but a lot of that simply came from the huge issues caused by being in a long-distance relationship.

“It became impossible for them to balance their work commitments.”
