Music legend Nile Rodgers and Hackney quartet Rudimental today launch the charity remix of bouncy 1970s disco hit, Le Freak.

No doubt to the envy of the numerous interns across Britain stuck making tea and playing on their phones, 70 young people from the UK were chosen to co-produce the track by the work experience initiative GoThinkBig.

They were selected by a panel of judges to join Nile and Rudimental’s “supergroup” and had the opportunity to try out positions in production, the box office, or as sound technicians, studio managers, camera crew and stylists. The lucky things also got the chance to star in the video of the track you can see above.

CHIC's infamous tune made number one nearly forty years ago, so we’re glad it’s been reinvented to let another generation witness the truly fantastic array of dance moves that get pulled out every time it's played. The new release made its public debut at Nile Rodgers and CHIC's concert on the 9th October this year, which was sold out (surprise surprise).

GoThinkBig was launched in 2012 by O2 and Bauer Media. It’s a website dedicated to helping young people gain valuable skills through work experience and careers advice. By the end of 2015, the programme will have offered 30,000 experience and skills opportunities to 16-24 year olds. And with opportunities like this on offer, it’s no surprise that more than 250,000 young people use the site to browse work placements.

The campaign echoes GoThinkBig's partnership last year with Rizzle Kicks, where 75 young people were recruited to work on the set of the music video for their track *Lost Generation. *Three of those taking part bagged full time jobs after the placement. Sigh. We’re feeling a bit sheepish now about that week sat in our dad’s office helping with filing.
