Kasabian might have scored a hat-trick with their NME Awards gongs last night, but heat hit a raw nerve with band member Tom Meighan when we asked him to share some music industry advice.
Speaking to us on the red carpet outside London’s Brixton Academy, we asked Tom whether he had any advice for One Direction, who is currently on tour in Australia.
But he was far from keen to pass on his words of wisdom, telling us: “I don't have any advice for them. What do they give a st what I say? They're fking millionaires.”
But the rant didn’t stop there…
He said: “I've got no advice to give to them. Why would I want to give them advice? They've f**king won the lottery – they are five no-ones that have won the lottery. I'm not giving any advice to One Direction. Why should I? They're not going to come to me, they're massive…”
Tom THEN compared Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik to, er, shampoo. “They're a product and we’re not a product. They're like shampoo – you buy it, put it in your hair and wash it out and we ain't.”
And his rant even turns on the Spice Girls, adding: “The Spice Girls is the same st, but the thing is they (1D) will all get angry with each other, they will all fall out and do too many drugs, one will say this and one will be fking arty and want to do something clever and they will break up in the end and still be millionaires, so I don't give a s**t, they're not in my league but I respect what they did and how they did it.”
Well, whatever it is, we certainly think you got it ALL off your chest!
