Here at heat we’re a bit worried about poor old Noel Edmonds. After the news broke last month that his daytime game show Deal Or No Deal has been axed, we’ve been wondering what Noel could possibly do to fill his days. Would we see him quit TV all together and find him wandering the streets dressed as Mr Blobby yelling WHATS IN YOUR BOX to unassuming passers by?
But it turns out our worries were totally unnecessary and – if anything – a bit condescending. Noel’s absolutely fine, people; he’s just bagged himself a brand new gig, er, ringing up people’s pets to check if they’re OK.
Yup: Noel's swapped his calls to The Banker for a little friendly chat with Fluffy and Mr Whiskers as part of a new service on his website, noel.world. All you have to do is fill in a form detailing your pet’s breed, interests and phone number. Really? If your pet has a phone number, there are some serious questions that need to be asked. Who could they be messaging? Have you checked their phones for paw-n? (Soz.)
The Guardian’s Peter Ormerod was one of the first to experience this service and describes his surprise when ACTUAL Noel Edmonds ACTUALLY called him up and “proceeded to talk to [his] cat, offering her words of affirmation and motivation”.
While Noel's concern for our furry friends’ well-being is truly heart-warming and something to be admired, we're going to have to say a firm No Deal to this one, pal.
