Noel Gallagher gripes about Adele’s ‘granny music’ – just weeks after she smashes an Oasis record

Don’t ask Noel what he thinks of Adele because he will swear, ok?

How many sour grapes can Noel Gallagher fit into his mouth? Absolutely loads, if his latest interview is anything to go by. The Oasis legend has branded Adele’s new offering “music for grannies” which is a bit mean. But, in his defence, he did promise he wasn’t trying to make headlines or anything…

“If someone wants to know what I think of Adele, I’ll f_ing tell them,” Noel told Music Feeds. “Not because I have any sort of agenda or because I’m trying to whip up any kind of hysteria. I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. I don’t like her music. I think it’s music for f_ing grannies.”

Sadly for Noel, Oasis were robbed of their record for the fastest selling British album by Adele’s 25 when it was released in November. And it wasn’t by a whisker either.* 25* sold over 100,000 more copies than Oasis’ Be Here Now – which dropped back in 1997.

We tell you what, Noel. Why don’t you make some more music with Oasis. We’re sure you could try and reclaim the title then. In fact, we’re pretty sure you’d be in with a fighting chance...
