With her own ITVBe show on the way and starring roles in Celebs Go Dating and TOWIE under her belt, Olivia Attwood has become something of a reality TV veteran since first rising to fame on the third series of Love Island back in 2017.

It was recently revealed that she’s one of the most popular Love Island contestants of all time but it turns out Olivia’s experience on the show could have been completely different.

Yep, the 29-year-old, who is preparing to tie the knot to footballer fiancé Bradley Dack, has admitted she was actually supposed to appear on another series of the ITV2 dating show but turned it down.

When one fan asked how she applied to appear on Love Island during a Q&A on Instagram, Olivia revealed, “They found me on Instagram!

“Was meant to be on series two originally… but I got cold feet 🙈🙈 not always as ballsy as I might appear…”

Sassy Geordie Amber entered the Love Island villa on day one and ended up winning the show with Greg O'Shea but later admitted she almost didn't end up appearing on the show as bosses originally wanted her to be a bombshell."When I got called in the UK, they were, like, oh, we want you to be a bombshell… I was like, no, I don't want to do that. They were like, no, no, it's great, being a bombshell's great. You'll have such an impact on the show," she told Fleur East on The Reality of Reality TV podcast."Me personally, I'm not the type to steal someone's man or be really confident and going in and be like, I like him. That's just not me. But my Auntie was like, look, this opportunity isn't going to come around often. Just go."

Series five bombshell Elma, who entered the villa alongside Maura Higgins, once revealed she turned down a place in the original line-up. Maybe it was Amber that replaced her?Speaking on heat's Under The Duvet, Elma said, "I didn't apply for it. Because I didn't apply, I didn't think this was something I ever wanted. I'm quite a private person, I only had 400 Instagram followers and it was de-active most of the year."To me, I just wasn't really ready for it, then it came and I was like 'ahhhhh', and I was like 'no, this isn't what I want.'"

Marcel was originally approached to appear on the 2016 series of Love Island as a bombshell but he later revealed he said no over concerns about the lack of diversity on the show. It all worked out in the end though as Marcel entered the villa a year later and made it all the way to the final with then-girlfriend Gabby Allen. He said, "I didn't think I wanted to go on as it didn't look like a particularly diverse show - I didn't want to be the first black person to go in as a bombshell, so I didn't go on that year. The next year they approached me again and this time I went on."

Alexandra was already making moves in the showbiz world before appearing in Love Island as she worked as a celebrity make-up artist and even appeared in a music video for Giggs' hit Lock Doh.It's not a surprise then that she was scouted by producers who offered her a place on the show. Alexandra wasn't sure though and turned it down multiple times before finally accepting in 2018.

Megan already had a big following on Instagram before appearing on Love Island and admitted she was hesitant to sign up to appear on TV.She said, "I was really hesitant at first because obviously Instagram is your filtered, photoshopped best version of yourself and I was like 'I'm happy to share that but do I actually want to go on national TV with everyone seeing me with no makeup on?' but I'm glad I did it."

It turns out Olivia had only just ended a long-term relationship when she was scouted for the show as her mum Jennifer explained when series three aired.

“She was asked to appear on Love Island last year. But she was only six months after ending a long relationship and she wasn’t in the right frame of mind,” Jennifer told The Daily Star at the time.

“I think that was the right decision…”

Still, it all worked out for Olivia in the end as she’s now more loved-up than ever with Bradley, who she reunited with following her failed romance with Chris Hughes.

The happy couple got engaged last year when he popped the question during a romantic getaway to Dubai.

Olivia announced the news to fans by posting two loved-up snaps of her and Bradley on Instagram. The first showed the pair sharing a kiss and the second revealed her HUGE sparkler.

Alongside the photos, she wrote, “He must be crazy... Here’s to forever. I love you BD.”
