Olivia Attwood has urged her followers not to post “mean” comments about influencers online amid the ongoing backlash they face for jetting off to Dubai.

The likes of Laura Anderson, Joshua Ritchie and Chloe Ferry have all come under fire for escaping the UK in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, and while Olivia previously criticised influencers who had done the same in a scathing Instagram rant, she’s now told fans to “unfollow or mute” instead of leaving negative messages.

The Love Island star said, “What I will quickly say is that after yesterday’s rantings, my phone – I mean it literally nearly blew up in my hand. So, I think even though I was rambling, what I said is probably what a lot of people are thinking or feeling, that’s what everyone said to me anyway. But I’ve said it now.

“But one thing I will say today, because I don’t want to encourage any hateful behaviour, don’t write mean messages.”

Olivia continued, “Yes, they might be doing stuff that annoys you, yes, they might be looking stupid, but ultimately, that’s going to be their own downfall so you don’t need to write them stupid messages, just unfollow. You know, everyone’s fighting something we don’t know about.”

Now happily married to Dom, Jess, just like her husband, is a model and influencer... it must be nice!

Alongside her video, she wrote, “Don’t be mean to people on the internet – no one gains anything. Message a friend, talk to your dog. Just deep breath and unfollow or mute. That’s what I’m going to do anyway!”

Olivia’s latest message comes after she slammed influencers who insist they’re working in Dubai rather than on holiday.

She previously fumed, “There is a difference between being able to earn money from wherever you are than being on holiday for work. Whenever I go on holiday I will post content which I can monetise but I’m still on holiday.

“I don’t go, ‘Me and Brad had them most amazing week in Portugal but don’t worry I was flat out working’. You just sound so stupid.

“And on top of that you’ve got the ones going, ‘We’re all in this together. This is our struggle’. No, it’s not, you’re on holiday and to be fair I don’t f--king blame you.”

Meanwhile, Laura Anderson has defended herself for posting content from Dubai and insisted being an influencer is “really hard”.

Speaking to fans on Instagram, the 2018 Islander said, “This whole thing about everyone hating influencers, I'm just like f--k, this is what I do for a job at the minute. I don't want to feel crap. I'm thinking maybe, would it be a good idea to give more of an insight into the reality of being an influencer?

“I think a lot of young people might want to do it, but you realise it's not that great when you see the reality of it. I saw someone in my comments saying you're on holiday, but when you're working you're not on holiday.

“On holiday doesn't mean just in the sun. I want people to understand then maybe they won't get as annoyed, it's not just right now, all the time.”
