Olly Murs on THAT awkward X Factor slip up – and how Simon Cowell reacted

Oh Olly. We do love you, we do. But we are still cringing a bit afterTHAT X Factor blunderlast week…

But the man himself doesn’t seem to think it too big of a deal, telling the Daily Mail that we’re all overreacting. He said:

"At the end of the day, I made a single mistake at a critical point in X Factor which was massively blown out of proportion… I think you need to put it in perspective with everything that's going on in the world.”

Fair point Ols.

In case you didn’t see or hear (we mean, obviously you have, but let’s recap) the presenter made more than a minor error on last week’s show when he prematurely announced that Monica Michael would be leaving the competition - before it had got to deadlock between her and other contestant, Anton Stephans. Awkward…

And when it was announced that in fact Monica did receive the fewest votes, that whole ‘fix-factor’ thing started going around again, which we’re sure didn’t make boss man Simon Cowell very happy. But Olly insisted:

"I had no idea Monica was going until I got the envelope. And it was just a really awkward moment for me because I made a stupid mistake.

"I was expecting a telling off if I'm honest - but I didn't get one, which was nice.

"I saw everyone after, I saw Monica, I saw the all judges and said I was so sorry and let myself down."

Poor Olly! Well, we're sure your performance on this weekend's show will make up for it.
