What’s not to like about Olly Murs? He’s a cheeky chap, his face is alright to look at and he entertains us when he vibrates his vocal cords. He's returning to our TV screens very soon on new ITV talent show Starstruck and we can't wait to tune in.

But if you’re the singer’s brother Ben Murs, it seems there’s a lot to dislike about the former X Factor contestant as Ben hasn’t spoken to his brother, sister, or parents in ten years.

Olly has since opened up about their relationship, saying it’s so damaged Ben would “probably want a fight” if they saw each other again.

Does Olly Murs have a twin?

It's not just the heartbreak of falling out with a brother - Ben is actually Olly's twin.

Opening up to Tom Jones, Will.I.Am and Meghan Trainor while a coach on The Voice UK, he said, “It’s a shame — even more so for my mum.

“And I do miss having my twin with me. We had these two different personalities but we just had this bond.

“It brings back memories when I see twins. When we were kids we used to sing all the time.”

Why did Olly Murs and his twin brother fall out?

The siblings fell out when Olly missed Ben’s wedding so he could compete in The X Factor semi-final in 2009, and the star hasn’t seen his twin bro since before he got married that year.

The musician told Radio Times{ =nofollow}, “His wedding was his excuse for not having me in his life anymore.”

Olly claims Ben’s wife Amy Hart never warmed to the Murs family, perhaps making it difficult for the group to get along.

He said, “He got into a relationship with his now wife, and I don’t think she ever liked us as a family.”

Now she's dropped an incredible 12 stone and exclusively told Closer magazine, "I'd love Simon to see me now – he wouldn't recognize me!"

Olly then opened up on The Voice UK in 2020 after Sir Tom Jones asked him about Ben.

When Tom asked about the 35-year-old's sibling, Olly responded, “We had a big argument.

“I feel like the next time I’m going to see him is when we lose somebody close in our family, and I don’t want that to be the case.

“I’ve got no idea where he lives."

Opening up about the reaction to the emotional chat, Olly told The Daily Record, "It was probably the one time I've been on to Twitter and it was actually nice. There was some positive stuff being written on there. The support was overwhelming if I'm honest."

He added, "Throughout the last ten years with my brother I've shown that emotion to myself but not to other people, so hopefully it was a positive thing. A lot of people were reaching out to me that have had relatives that they don't speak to anymore, brothers or sisters or family members, and they said, 'I'm in the same position and seeing you tonight has made me realise I need to make a change'. I still want to make that change with my brother."

Who is Ben Murs, Olly Murs' twin?

Unsurprisingly, Ben has kept himself firmly out of the limelight since becoming estranged from his popstar brother, even taking the last name of his wife, Hart.

In 2017 he broke his silence on the family feud, saying, "I was very close to my parents, but fame and greed changed everything.

"I can’t believe what my mum did by talking about my childhood. I was so upset when I read it.

"Why has my mum, the person who should defend me, said things that are hurtful and untrue?"
