Olly Murs has a plan b if his pop career and presenting gigs don’t work out.

The perennially cheery poppet wants a role in EastEnders.

And he does not want to play a shiny happy person – he wants to flex his East End acting muscles as a baddie.

More news!

Oooh, Olly.

“I’d love to do acting. I know that it’s something I want to do. It’s just whether I have the time to do it,” Olly said.

“I love EastEnders. I’ve spoken to Shane Richie, I’ve told everyone down there, that if there’s ever an idea or a role and you think I could do it then I would jump at it.”

Hang on – is Shane Richie the actual boss of EastEnders now? Because we always sort of assumed that was Letitia Dean.

Anyway, not only has Olly thrown his hat into the ring, he also has his role all mapped out.

“I’ve always had this idea that one of the girls goes away on holiday, has a romance and brings her boyfriend back to the square.

“Everyone hates him, he’s a bit of a rogue. He’s trying to chat up her sisters and best friends and he gets booted out. I’ve got it all mapped out,” Olly told The Sun.

Okaaaay then.

Do you know who we miss in EastEnders?

Hugh and Lenny. And Pat Butcher of course. Forever in our hearts.
