Here at heatworld we love it when a surprising celebrity pops up out of the woodwork and leaves us all wondering how on earth it came about, and how on earth we missed it.

We thought we'd had our fill of unexpected X Factor romances for the foreseeable future with Cherly and Liam Payne's relationship revelation last year.

But it turns out another X Factor alumnus has been having a secret romance and we really need to keep our finger on the surprising celebrity couple pulse, 'cause we definitely didn't see this one coming,

Olly Murs, who was runner up to Joe McElderry on series six of the show in 2009, has reportedly been dating presenter Melanie Sykes for almost a year.

“Mel loves a younger man and really fell for Olly when he got into shape late last year," a source told The Sun.

“They were initially introduced through a mutual friend. They started texting for ages and some of the messages ended up getting quite saucy."

Olly, 33, and Mel, 47, apparently bonded over her fitness regime - Olly's a big fan of her gym selfies....

"They ended up meeting for a date and have had a whole series of secret dates at his house where she will sometimes stay overnight," the source continued.

Despite the 'physical attraction, Olly and Mel have reportedly been keen to keep their romance under wraps, particularly as the relationship has been a bit 'on and off' while they're both busy with work commitments.

There's been hints of a blossoming romance between Olly - who is now a coach on The Voice - and Mel for a while now.

Back in April, Mel shared a snap of the two of them from backstage at the 02.

She captioned the post, "Not much can get me out on a Saturday night but this guy has!"

Mel also posted about loving Olly's music, praising him again on Instagram back in December 2016.
