Everyone has fallen in love with Dexter and Emma from Netflix’s adaptation of One Day.
The will-they-won’t-they series, based on David Nicholls’ best-selling 2009 novel, has had everyone gushing over its stars, This is Going to Hurt’s Ambika Mod and The White Lotus’ Leo Woodall – and with good reason. Die-hard romcom fans might be disappointed to know that Ambika and Leo aren’t dating in real life, but both are loved-up. And, of course, their partners are actors, too.
Ambika, 28, has kept quiet about her relationship status since finding fame as Shruti Acharya in Adam Kay’s autobiographical NHS drama in 2022. However, it’s been revealed she’s dating fellow Brit actor Andy Sellers, and the pair were recently spotted looking cosy on a dog walk.
Andy made his TV debut in All Creatures Great And Small in 2022, and is set to star in a Disney+ film called Young Woman And The Sea. It’s not known exactly when the pair started dating, but it was possibly on the set of Playdate, an upcoming five-part Disney+ drama in which they both star.
Meanwhile, Leo, 27, has been dating his White Lotus co-star Meghann Fahy, 33, since they met on the set of the show’s second season in Sicily in 2022. Leo played Essex lad Jack, while Meghann played Daphne, the wife of Theo James’ character Cameron.
They have been pictured together several times and have featured in each other’s Instagram photo dumps, but Meghann officially hard-launched their relationship last week by posting a cute snap of the couple walking arm in arm with their backs turned.
Leo playfully commented, “Who’s he?!”, while fans jokingly added, “She saw us thirsting after him and had to set the record straight”.
Understandably, fans of One Day have an interest in Leo and Ambika’s lives, and the good news is, just like Dex and Em, Leo and Ambika are great friends in real life. If you haven’t seen the cute behind-the-scenes pictures of them together on set, then you’re seriously missing out.
Speaking about their bond, Ambika said, “Working with Leo was really, really easy. Because we shot largely chronologically, we had the benefit of building Emma and Dexter’s relationship as our own friendship grew, so we let it happen naturally.”
And Leo agrees, saying, “We knew that we were going to lean on each other a bit, and we were lucky in that we did bond early, and it made working a lot easier. I think maybe our friendship carried through on screen.”
Could a double date be on the cards? Maybe a group trip to Arthur’s Seat? And maybe David Nicholls and his partner could go, too? OK, we’re getting carried away again…
