One Direction have broken their silence after last night’s cancelled gig in Northern Ireland.

Their spokesperson tweeted a statement more than 15 hours after the band pulled out of their Belfast show after Liam Payne was taken ill with a mystery condition.

The statement says: “Tonight and tomorrow night’s One Direction concerts in Belfast will be going ahead as planned.

“Liam thanks everyone for their good wishes. Once again we apologise for the cancellation of last night’s One Direction show.”

It went on to reveal the cancelled gig WILL be rescheduled for this Friday (23 October), so fans who have kept hold of their tickets from last night’s show will be allowed back in to the SSE Arena in Belfast to see the boys play.

Anyone who isn’t able to get to the gig on Friday are being told to contact the arena’s box office or Ticketmaster website for a refund.

It means the Irish ice hockey teams that were due to play a match on Friday have had to move it, which the One Direction rep thanked them for.
