One Direction headed to their first awards show as a four-piece last night.

But Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson showed there were no hard feelings towards Zayn Malik – who left the band in March – as they gave him a shout out during their Billboard Music Awards acceptance speech.

Accepting their Top Duo/Group award, Liam said: "There's one more person to share this with, and that's our brother Zayn."

Last week, the 1D boys admitted they were a "little bit angry" when Zayn told them he was quitting the group.

In their first interview without 22-year-old Zayn, Liam told James Corden on* The Late Late Show*: "At first we were a little bit angry.

"We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling. There were certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts of the job that he didn't. If you don't like your job, you've got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. There's no argument with that."
