One Direction and Little Mix could collaborate in the future if Liam Payne has anything to do with it.

The 1D singer wants to write music for the female group’s next album when his band goes on hiatus.

Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix told The Sun on Sunday: “We definitely want to collaborate with One Direction.

“We saw Liam at the iTunes gig and he said he wanted to write with us for the next album, so that would be good.”

The boys are obviously on good terms with the female group despite former One Direction star Zayn Malik splitting from Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards in August.

When Zayn left the band earlier this year, he insisted he was still good friends with the rest of the group but he is now in America working on his solo music and has not been pictured with any of his former bandmates recently and appears to have been taking swipes at ex Perrie online.

The rest of One Direction – Liam, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – recently showed their support for Little Mix, saying they were fans of their songs Black Magic and Love Me Like You.

We can’t wait to hear what Liam has up his sleeve...
