Liam Payne has revealed that One Direction's new album sounds almost a bit like Oasis.
The boy's first record without Zayn Malik (sob) sounds "kind of like a bit Oasis-y almost, which is ace. I love that," Payne revealed in an interview.
Apparently the band's album is "coming along really well" and they've "come up with some great, great songs".
The band were also reportedly looking to Ed Sheeran for inspiration, in an attempt to make their songs sound more "long lasting".
"The songs have come out a bit more chilled because I think we want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime" he added.
"Anytime you can throw on an Ed song and it can always make sense. We're trying to do that".
No word as yet as to what Noel Gallagher thinks of Liam's remarks. And while you might expect the famously outspoken singer to get the right hump about the comparisons, he's previously called the boys "lovely lads", so hopefully there will be no musical beef between the two parties.
