Ariana Grande was joined by a variety of huge stars last night for the One Love Manchester concert, paying tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack which claimed the lives of 22 people, on 22 May.
The pop princess returned to Manchester, as promised, after her quick departure to the US following the attack, to host an emotional fundraising concert at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
The concert was an outstanding success consisting of moving tributes from some of the music industry’s biggest stars, including Take That, Katy Perry, Little Mix, Justin Bieber and Pharrell Williams, raising more than £2million in the 3 hours it was broadcast.
The event saw a huge influx of donations from the UK alone and with the concert being broadcast globally, this sum is expected to reach double figures; an incredible contribution towards those sadly affected by the attack in Manchester.
Following the success of One Love Manchester, the total raised for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund now exceeds £10million, with thousands of people contributing to the cause via text message or online donations.
Ariana Grande continues to show her support for the victims of Manchester’s attack as she reveals she will re-release her hit single One Last Time as a charity single, with the proceeds going to We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. One Last Time was Ariana’s penultimate song at One Love Manchester last night and was also performed at her concert on 22nd May, just minutes before the horrific attack took place.
One Love Manchester eventually came to a close with Ariana Grande singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and leaving the 50,000 attendees and hundreds of viewers in floods of tears.
