Katie Price has revealed that Oscar Pistorius contacted her during his trial over the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Oscar, 27, started following Katie on Twitter after she gave her opinions on the case back in March; saying she would not “judge” the Paralympic athlete based on media reports.
He then began direct messaging 36-year-old Katie.
Katie told The Mirror: “He was direct messaging me during the case. It’s weird, isn’t it? He was saying, ‘Thanks for the support,’ and stuff. Just all general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me.
“Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn’t exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened. You’re innocent until you’re proven guilty.”
In March, Katie said in a magazine column: “No matter who you are or where you’re from or what you do, we are all equal when it comes to judicial undertakings and no prejudice or external factors should complicate the process. I’m certainly not going to judge Oscar on other people’s theories portrayed in the media.”
Katie’s brother, Dan, spotted the messages and flagged them to the former glamour model.
“He said, ‘Oh my god, Kate – have a look at who’s direct messaged you on Twitter.’ I said, ‘It’s got to be fake.’ He said, ‘No, it’s from his verified account.’”
Now, Katie says she wants to interview Oscar.
“I would interview him, I would love to.”
